Capturing Light. Creating Art. Preserving the Wild.

My name is James at Inis Photography, and I am a fine art landscape photographer dedicated to capturing the power, serenity, and emotion of the natural world. My work is rooted in a deep respect for nature and a passion for transforming fleeting moments into timeless pieces of art.

For over 20 years, I’ve traveled through mountains, coastlines, forests and open plains in pursuit of extraordinary light and authentic moments.

Each photograph represents patience, preparation, and persistence. Many of my images require scouting locations in advance, monitoring weather systems, hiking in darkness, and returning multiple times until conditions align perfectly.

When you purchase one of my prints, you are not just buying a photograph — you are bringing home a moment in time.

Fine Art Prints

All of my work is available as museum-quality fine art prints, carefully produced to ensure exceptional detail, color accuracy, and longevity.

Print options include:

  • Archival fine art paper

  • Gallery-wrapped canvas

  • Framed or unframed formats

  • Custom sizing upon request

Every print is created using high-resolution files and professional-grade materials designed to last generations without fading.

Whether you’re designing a home, office, or gallery space, my goal is to provide artwork that transforms your environment and connects you to the natural world every day.

The Gear I Use

While vision and timing are essential, professional equipment allows me to capture the highest level of detail and dynamic range — especially important for large-format prints.

Camera Bodies

  • Nikon Z7ii

  • Backup: Nikon D750

High-resolution sensors allow me to produce stunning large prints with incredible clarity and depth.

Lenses

  • Ultra-wide lens (e.g., 14–24mm) for expansive vistas

  • Standard zoom (e.g., 24–70mm) for versatility

  • Telephoto lens (e.g., 70–200mm or longer) to isolate distant details and compress landscapes

  • Select prime lenses for low-light precision and maximum sharpness

Filters & Accessories

  • Polarizing filter

  • Neutral Density (ND) filters for long exposures

  • Graduated ND filters

  • Carbon fiber tripod for stability

  • Remote shutter release

  • Drone (where permitted) for aerial perspectives

I often work in demanding conditions — wind, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures — so reliability and durability are essential parts of my toolkit.

Respect for Nature

Every location I photograph is treated with care. I strictly follow Leave No Trace principles and prioritize environmental preservation. These landscapes are not just subjects — they are ecosystems worth protecting.

Bringing the Outdoors Inside

My mission is simple: to create artwork that inspires connection with the natural world.

In a fast-moving digital age, fine art prints offer something tangible and lasting. A physical piece of art has presence. It transforms a room. It creates atmosphere. It invites pause.

If my work resonates with you, I would be honored to have one of my pieces displayed in your space.

Thank you for visiting and supporting independent fine art photography.
